I could have been ahead of the crowd in digitizing my photographs. I started sorting them nearly a year ago. By the time I got them organized and took them to be scanned, Covid was in full swing and the rest of the world had the same idea.
The small storefront was filled, floor to ceiling, with boxes of prints and VHS tapes. A narrow path to the counter was the only visible floor.
Since I received the finished product, I’ve been sharing these memories with the rest of the family. It wasn’t cheap — I spent nearly $500 to digitize 1,500 photos — but the reaction of older relatives to these forgotten images is priceless.
