The New ‘Plus’ Button, Empty Text Notes, and Image Captions
Say hello to Shortcut 6.1 😀

The New ‘Plus’ Button
Welcome the new ‘Plus’ button. We replaced the existing red button with a new, better, version of it offering three possibilities.

On the left is the camera button, which leads to the same functionalities as the old ‘Plus’ button. You can scan recipes or documents and take regular photos.
The middle button creates an empty text note in order to add your ideas and organize them nicely within Shortcut.
The right button creates a new folder or sub-folder in order to have a solid structure of your notes.
Empty Text Notes
Empty text notes is a long-requested feature from our users. If you have an idea for a recipe or other, need to write down a shopping list or menu plan, create a new note and add whatever is on your mind.
Image Captions
The new Shortcut offers image captions. This allows you to create your own photo stories to document preparation steps for a recipe and more.
Together, these new features make Shortcut a more powerful tool for you. It allows you to write your own notes e.g. recipes from scratch and document every preparation step with photos and image captions.
