#MeetTheBarber — Terrell Gaines, Los Angeles

He isn’t your average barber.

Terrell Gaines, or “TJ”, is a master barber and hairstylist whose clientele includes celebrities, musicians, and most recently – Twitch streamers.

Last Thursday, professional Fortnite player Tfue got a haircut live on Twitch. This was his first stream back after a Twitch suspension, and it soon became one of the most-viewed Fortnite streams of all time – with more than 100,000 live viewers – all while getting a live haircut from Terrell.

Tfue’s YouTube video of the live haircut has more than 2M views.

Terrell was there through it all – Tfue ended up winning the solo match, and passed fellow Fortnite streamer Ninja in viewers.

But for Terrell, it hasn’t always been fun and games. Two years ago, he started everything over. He left his barbershop in Ohio to begin a new life in Los Angeles. It’s hard beginning anew, especially in the City of Angels: he had to hustle to build a career, and gain all new clientele in a fresh setting.

A lucky break: in November, 2016, he joined Shortcut as a Hair Pro, which enabled him to deliver hair services to homes and offices throughout LA and serve a whole roster of new clients.

Any occasion: Terrell, with a client at PartyNextDoor’s birthday party.

It’s difficult for a traveling barber, especially amid LA traffic, but Terrell has found that it’s well worth it to bring clients what they really want – hair services right in the comfort of their home or office.

To date, Terrell has delivered over 500 hair services through the Shortcut platform. He’s a top performer in the LA area — his attention to detail, personality, and intrinsic style keep clients bringing him back.

A fun shoot: Terrell cuts a client in the middle of a busy street in LA.

Keep killin’ it, TJ. Can’t wait to see who you’re cutting next.
