Psst! The Web Beta is here — Beta 1
The very first beta is here! We’re really excited to show you a bit of what we’ve been working on.
But before you go clicking on the links, here’s a few things to keep in mind and what Beta 1 is about:
This is a beta (if you’re not familiar with this word, we’d recommend waiting for the final release) and a very first beta at that: Some things are a bit buggy. Some things are disabled, and some things aren’t included at all.
What we’re focusing on
Being Beta #1, this includes many of the basic functionalities:
Listening to ShortKasts:
There’s some pretty funny, insightful and interesting ShortKasts in there. Give them a listen, and hit the like button if you like them, and share them with your friends. (You can’t comment in this beta). The view counters don’t include the views from Katha, we will work on adding them later, but for now all ShortKasts start from zero listens.
Recording ShortKasts:
This is one of the most important things! Feel free to talk about anything! But we’d rather you not just do ShortKasts of “Test 123, Test 123”. We want to test real data, and we’ve done many “Test 123”s, and can assure you that this part does indeed work.
You can also edit the details for your prevously recorded and posted ShortKasts (posted via Katha), to better match the new stuff we’ve added. You’ll notice we’ve added some of these details to your posts. Feel free to change them!
*Keep in mind that recording does not work via Safari for now. For a list of other known issues, see here.
Subscribing to a channel:
If you like a ShortKast, and want to get more stuff from that user, you should subscribe. ShortKasts from that list will appear in your Subscriptions playlist, and Playlists from the user will appear in your home page.
