Continuing with my theme of showing you things about Canberra which have nothing to do with politics or city life, even in the midst of the city, here are some photos I took this week, when walking around a reservoir near where I live, called Point Hut Pond.

This is effectively a lake, surrounded on three sides by houses, with a strip of parkland on the lake edge. So everything you see here is only a few metres from suburban housing.

It’s summer in Canberra right now, so there are flowers everywhere — and I love taking close up shots of the beautiful detail.

Other flowers are everywhere, both native and imported.
A local stormwater drain.

Even the local stormwater drains are pretty — it’s been a very wet summer so far and there is a lot of runoff. This three tiered waterfall is part of teh drain system that feeds into the lake. And yes, right now, the trees and grass really are that green, and the sky that blue — this has not been enhanced at all.

So — thats what my afternoon walk looks like.

I write books — more than 100 so far, as me, and under pen names. I take photos — everywhere, all the time. On Medium, I let those two things intersect.
