I’ve been living in Taif, Saudi Arabia, for last ten years. Taif has always been the city of joy and happiness. It has a rich cultural background, and the heritage associated with my city makes it valuable and beautiful. Taif was also once the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Taif is actually a valley of eastern Hejaz Mountains, at 1800 meters of altitude. Makkak, the holy city of Muslims, is about 100 kilometers from Taif. More than 3000 years ago, it was on the pilgrimage road to Makkah even before the advent of Islam.

Taif is a famous tourist place in Saudi Arabia, especially in summer, because of its cool weather and the beautiful valleys. It’s also called “Garden of the Hejaz”. Al-Hada and the village of Ash-Shafa are the popular picnic spots.
