So far, 2019 has been a great year for the entertainment industry. Record labels are racking in money and live entertainment continues to be a lucrative avenue for musicians. Pollstar published a mid-year breakdown of the highest-earning concerts of 2019, here are the top five.

1. Elton John $82.6 million

Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour is the highest-grossing tour of 2019, so far. This tour averages $1.9 million per show. John’s final tour will make a stop in Charlotte at the Spectrum Center on November 7. You can grab a ticket here.

2. P!nk $81.8 million

P!nk’s Beautiful Trauma world comes in second place with a total gross of $81.8 million. The BT tour has been running since March 2018 and is set to end next month.

3. Justin Timberlake $75.5 million

The 13-month The Man of the Woods tour ended in April. The tour was quite successful, earning Timberlake the number three spot. The singer was joined by R&B group, The Shadowboxers on tour. Timberlake grossed an average of $2.3 million per show.

4. Metallica $69.7 million

The WorldWired Tour | Metallica

The iconic heavy metal band takes the fourth spot on the list with their WorldWired Tour. Metallica has been on the road since the tour’s launch on February 6, 2016. Earlier this month, the band announced that it will be headlining the 2020 Epicenter Festival in Charlotte at Rock City Campgrounds across from Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 1–3.

5. Fleetwood Mac $67.7 million

The An Evening with Fleetwood Mac tour will run through November 16. The renowned blues-rock band’s next show is on October 28 in Boston, MA. Veteran band members like Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, and John and Christine McVie are all performing on the tour. Mike Campbell and Neil Finn replaced former guitarist Lindsey Buckingham in 2018 after he parted ways with the group.

According to Pollstar’s findings, Fleetwood Mac has the highest average ticket price among those in the top five at $143.58. Sounds like money well spent to me.

Other artists like Ed Sheeran, Travis Scott, KISS and Cher follow closely behind the top five. It will be interesting to see if the standings change by the end of the year.
