Shuttershare was built to empower creatives. The platform was founded by two Canadian videographers who were finding it difficult to rent high quality kit for their projects. They also owned a substantial amount of equipment that would go unused once a project was in the editing phase or when they were out seeking new business.

Across Canada and the globe filmmakers and photographers alike shared this pain of watching high quality equipment sit on the shelf. Thus, Shuttershare was born.

The platform aims to be the largest listing of video and photo equipment available. By crowdsourcing their listings from professionals and hobbyists alike Shuttershare has a chance to reach this goal. Having such a vast listing of equipment, providing security measures for the users, and building up the community, Shuttershare aims to change the way creatives interact with one another around their gear and their profession.
