Is it April already? Hard to imagine for our team at Shuttershare. It was an extremely busy March filled with excitement, amazing customer feedback, and countless product releases.

Our goal for March was to elevate the search and renting experience for our users. With that said what better way to start than with the search bar.

The SearchBar

It may not look much different — but under the hood we revamped our search to display results faster, more accurately and provide more options when searching. You will now be able to search by category, price, and only see listings that are fully verified.

On TOP of that, the map has been improved. Let’s say you live in Liberty Village. Take the map, scroll over to your neighbourhood and click “Refresh Search Results”. Now the results generated on the left will all be within that exact location.

Try it out now at shuttershare.io/search. Let us know what you think by sending us an email or chatting with us on Shuttershare.

Choose Weekly Pricing

You asked, we listened — you can now choose your own custom weekly pricing. Previously weekly pricing was locked at 3 times daily rate for a week. You can now customize this rate based on your listings. Of course if you want the basics — 3x is already chosen when you create a new listing. Our suggestion is to keep it at 3 days or less.

Making Items Dates Blocked when Rented

This feature is part of a long term product release to create better inventory and management tools for your listings. V1 which was released over a week ago is to implement blocked dates on listing once a rental request has been accepted. What does this mean? Let’s say you own a Sony FS7. It gets rented next Monday and Tuesday. Now your listing will be automatically blocked off for those dates in the calendar to decrease the number of rejected requests and limit your need to respond to messages.

If you own more than one of a listing. Do not fret — we thought about you too. On the final step of creating (or editing) a listing you choose to not block your listings date, i.e. you can rent as many as you wish

Message The Renter

Released this past weekend, users can now send a message to a renter before submitting a rental request. If you send a message you will be connected via sms (if you preferences allow) and email. From there ASK AWAY! We hope this will make for a smoother request process.
