At Shyft, we believe in working in the open and sharing our progress — that’s at the core of our ambitious plan to facilitate a secure transfer of private, attested data to the benefit of global consumers and institutions.

We’re excited to share Shyft Roadmap with you!

For many who keep a close eye on the blockchain sector, whether they’re bleeding-edge disruptors looking for the “killer app” that will signal the next major seismic movement, or simply legacy service providers wondering how long they have before they need to radically rethink their business model, it can be difficult to gauge just how much progress is really being made in bringing blockchain technology to the masses.

At Shyft, we know that the blockchain space can be confounding. We’ve seen other firms’ big ideas, press pushes and even proof-of-concepts come and go with nothing to show for it, major capital investments go nowhere. That’s why we’re focusing on building out our team, infrastructure, and network components and being transparent about every aspect of our development. You’ve probably seen our recent blog posts about our team members, philosophy, and technical aspects of the Network, but we wanted to take a moment to zoom out and give you a sense of what we’ve accomplished so far — and what’s on the horizon.

Shyft Roadmap for 2018–2019

Building out our team, infrastructure, and network components

A project of this magnitude and scope requires top-level talent, so much of our first year and change has been devoted to assembling a tremendous core team, as well as key partnerships with other players in the blockchain space, as well as other technological and regulatory experts. Along with our growing list of private-sector partnerships (including the data rights management firm Trunomi, BurstIQ, the accelerator Pegasus Fintech, and BC’s Crypto KABN), we signed a landmark $10M MOU with the Government of Bermuda. The agreement is intended to both develop the country’s burgeoning fintech sector and provide an environment to develop a seamless, unified e-ID solution.

We believe in being transparent about every aspect of our development

But we haven’t just been sitting on our hands while we’ve been out there making friends. Q2 2018 saw us complete work on our initial MVP: the Shyft Network blockchain, with operable smart contracts and Trust Channels.

We’re well into building out Shyft’s technological infrastructure, and we’ll be keeping busy over the next year. Before the year’s out, we plan to make major headway with the Shyft Bridge, including a deployment to testnet. We’ll also be launching our first partner pilot for the Shyft dApp platform.

Heading into 2019 at a sprint, we intend to keep the dApp platform growing with the help of new sponsorships, as well as deploying more key layers of the Shyft infrastructure (such as the Shyft Ring and Shyft Harmony), as well as continuing to develop and strengthen privacy and security for the entire system. We’ll also be outlining our plan for scaling the platform, as well as commissioning a comprehensive audit of our core codebase to ensure that it’s as robust and secure as possible.
