Welcome to Shyft Dev Deep Dive, our monthly developer update, where we share the new Shyft-wide features and technical changes.

Shyft Veriscope finished 2022 on a strong note with the introduction of Address Proofs that enable VASPs (read: crypto businesses) to prove ownership or control of an address before personal identification information (PII) is shared between VASPs.

Address Proofs sets Shyft apart from its peers as Shyft Veriscope now solves for both address attribution (i.e., who owns a hosted wallet address without having to ask end-users) and secure, peer-to-peer data transmission between VASPs.

In the last month, several additional enhancements have been added to Veriscope. These are detailed below. As always, if you have questions or would like a demo, please reach out to us at veriscope@shyft.network. We look forward to hearing from you!

Veriscope Releases (Jan-2023)

Node Synchronization Upgrade

Veriscope Relay Node has now been upgraded to Nethermind v1.15.0, which has made data synchronization with the Shyft Blockchain must faster.

Event transactions, too, take considerably less time to complete, as the time it takes to load and save them to Veriscope has decreased significantly. Events refer to the events emitted from transactions on the Shyft blockchain.

Earlier, the above-mentioned processes used to take 12+ hours to complete, but the Node Synchronization Upgrade has decreased it to 4–6 hours. Click here for more details on Node Synchronization.

Veriscope UI Update

With the new Veriscope UI Update, Discovery Layer Key-value pairs are now sorted A-Z. A new settings page has also been introduced to provide easy access to user settings (email, password, 2FA), webhook URL, and API tokens.

IVMS Update

Keeping in line with the IVMS specification, we added additional IVMS fields to Shyft Veriscope. With this, IVMS values saved to Veriscope are now shown in the IVMS form input fields.

VASPs can also export their IVMS data as either Originating VASP or Beneficiary VASP in the required IVMS format. Click here for more details on it.

Blockchain Analytics Update

In January, we made two blockchain analytics updates. The API endpoint for Merkle Science has been corrected, and the API endpoints for each Blockchain Analytics service provider are now shown in the Veriscope user interface, next to where the VASPs can input their API keys.

Conclusion

Starting the year with significant improvements to Shyft Veriscope, the Shyft Product & Engineering team proved again that what matters the most is user experience. We believe user experience must remain frictionless even while complying with stringent regulations. And the Shyft team is committed to it.

Stay tuned for next month’s update, where we will share more exciting developments and updates.
