SiaClassic is thrilled to announce we’ll be collaborating with ActiveAether to use the storage in our network. Led by visionary founder, Robert MacInnis, Ph.D., an expert in distributed systems and a pioneer in fog computing, ActiveAether utilizes processing power on computers across the globe as part of its serverless fog platform. Computer owners are compensated via ActiveAether’s FogCoin cryptocurrency.

Collaboration with SiaClassic will enable ActiveAether to make nearby storage accessible as well. For readers unfamiliar with The Internet of Things, it is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and connectivity which enables these items to connect, collect, and exchange data. These devices can communicate and interact over the internet, and they can be remotely monitored and controlled. Smart devices like Amazon’s Alexa and Nest are considered a part of the Internet of things.
Internet of Things devices are constantly sending and receiving data that needs to be processed and stored somewhere.
