Start reading “Switch” by Chip Heath and Dan Heath to fill in field break. Might be the right book for the right time, at least for me.

The 2nd Chapter is titled “Find the Bright Spots”, the chapter share several stories and one of the most interesting story is about Jerry Sternin from Save The Children organization.

His story to bring real change is remarkable and long-lasting.

One of his important quote that I feel still relevant everywhere:
“Knowledge does not change behaviour.”
Most people doesn’t like being told what to do even if they know that what’s being told to them is true.

In his HBR article he pointed out:
What is important is identifying the relevant positive deviancy within each local community and then getting everyone to adopt that behaviour. The community, in other words, cures itself.

For sure things like this are easier said than done. But, at least, there is another perspective to think about making/facing changes.

I will continue read this book and update for more highlights later.
