I Gave Three Legendary AIs The Same Writing Prompt — Which One Was The Best?
Which tool should you use for writing novels?
Among our new silicon overlords, which one tells the best stories? I decided to give three AIs, Google’s Gemini, Claude.ai and, of course, chat gpt, the opportunity to prove their superiority in an all out brawl.
Now, I’m wasn’t going to use the typical benchmarks or other kind of technologically sophisticated ways to measuring the performance of language models.
I just wanted to know: which one is going to tickle my fancy the most, and leave me engaged while craving more.
In short, which robot would be the best partner for writing a best-selling novel?
The Test
So, I gave each AI three tries to give me its best shot at a random, generic prompt.
Also, In case I didn’t particularly like something, I’d correct it. I feel like this approach would best reflect the “real” writing process that an author goes through when crafting a story, rather than just giving them 1 try.
What can I say, I’ve noticed that AIs tend to have awful writing moments too, lol!
My prompt was as follows:
Write for me a creative, interesting, well written introduction
to a story about an old man in a cottage. It's in the morning and
he's eating breakfast. Something unexpected happens.and these were the best results I was able to get.
I think the winner might genuinely surprise you.
