Sora, The New AI Video Generator Will Change The Entire Internet — Mark My Words

It’s actually scary how fast things have changed in ONE year.

When I first saw tweet after frantic tweet claiming that OpenAI had released an absolutely mind-blowing new AI, I thought that people were probably overreacting. Let’s be honest with ourselves — AI generated videos are pretty terrible and seem to unfailingly end up squarely in the uncanny valley.

They almost always seemed like something that would me commonly found in a rapidly escalating acid trip than an re-creation of “real life”:

I really wasn’t expecting much progress, since text-to-video AI generators are still very much in their infancy. At best, I hoped for something that could potentially re-create short 5 second clips where everything wasn’t melting into each other.

Instead, I was blown away.
