My Comprehensive ThriveCart Review: Is it worth the hype?

How does waking up to new PayPal notifications on your phone, almost every day sound?
A year and a half ago, making passive income online was something I thought were for people who were smarter / luckier / had better timing than me.
Then, during the summer of 2022, I saw a free workshop and started selling printables on Etsy. In November, I was already making $1000 a month and had gotten the confidence to start with affiliate marketing, content creation and making online courses.
Therefore, my Christmas present to myself in 2022 was a lifetime deal for the shopping cart ThriveCart.
Since then, I’ve marketed and sold product through the platform. In fact, there has been made more than 4500 transactions through my ThriveCart platform (a number of them for free bundles, though).

Is ThriveCart legit?
The lifetime deal can sound so good, that some people doubt it can be true.
Well, it is completely true! You only pay once, and you get full access to what is probably the best shopping cart on the market.
I constantly see the best online creators changing to ThriveCart, but I haven’t seen any leave yet (I actually saw one at one time — but she made a huge turn-around and came back to ThriveCart after a couple of months!).
How much does ThriveCart cost per month?
Well, after you’ve paid the life-time deal, your monthly costs will be 0. Zilch. Nada. Zero dollars!
So yup, it’s like winning the financial jackpot — enough to make your accountant start drooling with envy.
How do the ThriveCart funnels work?
When you set up a product in ThriveCart, you can add a funnel simply by clicking. Here, you can add up to five of your other products as upsells and downsells, so that everybody that commits to the frontend-product will be offered the other products as well.
And here is the clue — the customers don’t have to add any extra payment details or personal info to get the upsells, it’s a simple yes or no-click. Therefore, it is often easy sells.
Today, the products in these funnels contribute to about 40 per cent of my total monthly sales in many of the funnels. And I don’t touch it at all — I set it up when I first made the product, and it continues to make money for me in the backend forever. To me, that is the greatest value of ThriveCart — it is an important piece of the puzzle that helps me make passive income.
Is ThriveCart Learn good?
Absolutely — big yes! ThriveCart Learn is the course platform that is included inside ThriveCart, and I just love how easy it is to set up a course there. It does allow me to customise everything — colours, fonts, types of content etc, and I think the courses look very nice and polished (I use Canva for my pictures).
Also, it feels really good that everything is on the same platform, so that people get instant access when they buy — there is no risk of glitches between the systems. I’ve onboarded lots of students now, and I can’t remember anyone getting in touch about trouble getting access (except once in the beginning, but that was my own mistake).
Having taken a lot of online courses myself, I know that this is not necessarily the norm. I’ve had trouble myself getting login details to other courses, hosted at different platforms. And as a person who is keen to make passive income, but not to keen to do lots of customer support and fix tech glitches, I really love that this just works out automatically.
Do you need ThriveCart Learn Plus?
It depends on your situation. I have ThriveCart Learn Plus myself, and love the extra features. I mostly use it to make bundles of my courses so that I can sell two or more at a combined prize and to engage students in different ways (like giving them a mini bonus course if they complete all modules).
If you are just starting out, though, the standard Learn platform in itself is enough. I had only the normal ThriveCart Learn myself for the first year (and almost ten courses!) and I was super-happy with the opportunities.

What is the lifetime pricing?
ThriveCart is the only shopping cart I know that offers a lifetime deal. I don’t know how long it will last, but I am so happy I grabbed this for myself when I first started my business.
If you’re on the fence about ThriveCart, they have been open about the fact that they will change the current pricing. Nobody knows exactly when and how much, but there is a timer on their website saying how long the current price is guaranteed.
I was lucky to get it at $495 — and only five or six months later, I realized that I probably would have spent the same amount of money on monthly fees, if I had bought course platform and sales platform separately (and I probably would have needed Zapier to connect it all). And if I had chosen that, I would have continued to pay going forward.
Whereas with ThriveCart, I have already paid my fees for life — I’ll never have to pay for course platform or sales platform again. And that’s just the kinda deals I like to make.
Are there downsides?
One thing I’ve noticed is that ThriveCart Learn doesn’t host videos, so I need to do that on the side. It is possible to do this for free on YouTube, but I didn’t like how it looked, so I actually do it on Vimeo (which has monthly fees). You can of course do it on YouTube as well.
Another thing is that the actual sales pages have a bit limited customization options. There are a lot of templates, but the customization tools can be somewhat restrictive. I fix this by making Canva assets and use them as pictures, though — and that works out really well for me.

So, if you are like my — I can pretty much guess what you are thinking now: “OK, so it worked really well for her business. But that doesn’t mean it will work for mine”.
And you’d be smart to think that. We are all different, and one person’s strategies are not always easy to adapt for another.
