Is it worth the investment for online course creators?

Update Aug 29 2024: ThriveCart is having a special Labor Day Sale this weekend, where you can secure the lifetime deal of ThriveCart Pro and ThriveCart Learn+ for only $795 ($100 off) — PLUS their special Thrive & Shine Bundle for free. The sale is only available through a special link, which you can find here. And if you use my link to get it, you will also get a special bonus of $250 store credit plus my super-popular ThriveCart Bootcamp course!

When I was setting up my online business, I was super-hesitant on which platforms to use. Today, I feel lucky to have ended up with ThriveCart.

There are lots of reasons for that — one of my favorite parts is the ability to create sales funnels with order bumps, upsells and downsells that work seamlessly.

Almost as important is the lifetime deal (which I hear won’t last forever, so it might be a good idea to snag it now if you are considering it). It felt a bit expensive when I got it, but six months later, I’ve probably already earned the value compared to other platforms I considered at the time — and now, ThriveCart will be free forever for me.

In other words, I earned back my yearly fee in just a few months — even though I was just setting up and didn’t have that many products to offer yet. I am so thrilled with this that I am actually looking for lifetime deals for other products as well (yup, I am a bit cheap — I am always trying to keep costs down for my business).

That is not the topic of this article, though.

In this review, however, I will focus on giving my honest review of ThriveCart Learn.

The goal of passive income is to be able to play on the beach while clever automations takes care of my customers.

ThriveCart Learn

Are you an online course creator looking for a reliable platform to sell and manage your courses? If so, you’ve likely come across ThriveCart Learn in your search. But is it really worth investing in?

In this ThriveCart Learn review, we’ll dive into what it is, how it works, its features, pricing, and the pros and cons of using it. By the end, you’ll have a better understanding of whether ThriveCart Learn is the right platform for you.

What is ThriveCart Learn?

ThriveCart Learn is a course management and sales platform designed for online course creators. It’s an extension of ThriveCart, which is a super-popular shopping cart platform, and allows you to sell and manage your online courses all in one place.

How Does ThriveCart Learn Work?

ThriveCart Learn integrates seamlessly with your existing website or landing page and allows you to create and sell courses, manage student enrollments, and process payments.

It also includes features such as course progress tracking, drip content and the possibility of setting up automated email flows (my favourite!!).

Features of ThriveCart Learn

ThriveCart Learn comes packed with features to help you create, sell, and manage online courses. Some of the features I like the most include:

  • Course Creation: Create and customize courses so they look really nice and are easy to navigate in for the students — including adding video, audio and text (there is a quiz section coming, too, apparantly). For me, this is the most important. It is so easy to upload different elements, and it simply looks stunning every time. I use Canva to create my assets, and just feed it into ThriveCart Learn to make a professional-looking course.

This is what it looks like inside one of my courses:

Inside one of the author’s courses on ThriveCart Learn. As you can see, the modules are organised in the left column, while the present module is in the main column. There are different options, though — so you can choose to have it organized differently if you prefer.

Cool, right? But that’s not all! Let’s look at more features:

  • Payment Processing: Accept payments from a variety of payment processors, including PayPal and Stripe. This is super-easy with ThriveCart, and I never see anybody having trouble with it. Plus, the payment and the course is all done the same place, so no need for extra integrations.
  • Student Management: Manage student enrollments and progress. For instance, it is very easy for me to give extra access to people whenever they use store credit or for other reasons are allowed into a course.
  • Course Progress Tracking: Track student progress through your courses, including quiz scores and completion rates.
  • Drip Content: Release course content gradually over time to keep students engaged and motivated. I’ve used this to launch before I am ready (my favourite way to make sure there is demand before I create a full course).
  • Sequences for engagement: I use SO MANY ways of engaging students, for instance by triggering automated emails when students successfully complete a module, a lesson or the whole course. I talk a lot about this in my course The ThriveCart Bootcamp, which this month is available as a free bonus if you use my link to pick up ThriveCart. You can read more about this towards in the end of this review.

Pricing of ThriveCart Learn

Yay! This one is my favourite part! Right now, ThriveCart Learn is available at a one-time fee of $495, where you get the whole ThriveCart for that price (I hear it might be changing, though — so don’t wait too long to grab it!).

For a one-time fee, you get lifetime access to to the platform for unlimited courses, and student enrollments. And of course, you can sell a lot more things than courses — ThriveCart is my favourite way of doing upsells, downsells. I use it for all my funnels.

Considering that you are most likely buying ThriveCart for the shopping cart feature and getting ThriveCart Learn as a bonus, I think this is just expectionally cheap.

If you’d get another learning platform, you could easily be dishing out $119/month for Teachable, $149/month for Kajabi or $179/month for Podia.

In terms of pricing, it depends if you are planning to sell courses for a little while or if you are not sure and you are just testing. If you are just testing, I’d probably start with something else that is payable by the month. But for someone like me, who are focused on making new courses and plan to be in this business for a while, it is just amazing value.

In just a few months on the life-time plan with ThriveCart, you are basically getting the learning platform for free!

And hey, there is a 30 day “pays for itself” refund guarantee — which means that if after using ThriveCart you find that it hasn’t helped grow your results by more than the fee, the ThriveCart team will work with you to help until it does! And if that still doesn’t work out, you can receive a full refund as long as you are within the first 30 days of purchase.

So it’s really a no-brainer, I guess. I can’t vouch for the help you get from the team, as I had good sales pretty much from the start. Here is a snapshot of one of my recent weeks:

Let’s look at some pros and cons…

As always, there will be pros and cons. For me, these have been the pros and cons of ThriveCart Learn:

Pros:

  • Lifetime access for a one-time fee
  • Robust course creation and management features
  • Integrates seamlessly with your website or landing page
  • Accepts payments from multiple payment processors
  • Provides detailed course analytics

Cons:

  • Higher upfront cost compared to some other course platforms
  • Limited customization options for course templates (but I make all the assets in Canva, so it always looks really nice).

Is ThriveCart Learn Worth It?

If you’re serious about creating and selling online courses, ThriveCart Learn is definitely worth considering. The lifetime access for a one-time fee is a great value, and the platform provides robust course creation and management features.

However, if you’re just starting out and don’t have a lot of courses to sell, the upfront cost may be too high.

In that case, you may want to consider a monthly subscription-based platform and pay per month until you know that you are in this for at least a year.

Is ThriveCart Learn Plus Worth It?

For many creators, the normal ThriveCart Learn platform will be more than enough. It is however possible to buy an add-on, in order to unlock extra features in ThriveCart Learn Plus.

I had ThriveCart Learn for about a year myself, before I bought the ThriveCart Learn+ as a little Christmas gift to my business the year after I got the standard account.

I would say the most useful features is the possibility of creating bundles and making bundles of courses. That means that for instance, you’ll be able to bundle five of your courses together and sell at a specific price (excellent for occations like Black Friday) — or you can sell future access to all courses you are making during the a specific time period.

It’s also possible to make a lot for specific, automated flows for students, letting affiliates offer bonuses and a lot more. These can be really, really fun — I especially use the option for adding bonuses for people who buy in a certain time period, or have a specific tag. That makes adding urgency (and thus, also revenue) a lot easier, so I think it can be a pretty valuable feature.

The reason why I bought it, however, was that I wanted to be able to offer multiple courses in a package/bundle at a discounted price. In addition, I love making my courses interactive, so the fact that it was possible to add automated bonuses (such as bonus lessons) whenever a student completes certain parts of the course, was a great asset.

Is it worth it? If you are in need of one of the specific features, ThriveCart Learn Plus is not expensive and definitively worth it. You’ll find the lowest price here, and (at least for now), it is offered at a one-time fee.

But if you are just starting out and are thinking you might need them in the future, I think you’ll do fine without for now — you can easily buy it as an add-on at any time later (just like I did).

Final Verdict

Thrivecart Learn is a powerful all-in-one learning platform that offers a range of features and capabilities to create and sell online courses, membership sites, digital products, and coaching programs.

My experience is that the platform is easy to use, customizable, and comes with integrations with popular marketing and payment gateways.

ThriveCart Learn is a great platform for online course creators who want a reliable and robust solution for selling and managing their courses.

While the upfront cost may be high, the lifetime access and features make it a worthwhile investment for anyone who is serious about their online course business. You can still get the lifetime deal here!
