Walk the extra mile — My story

I always wanted to share my experiences with others who are interested in generating a passive income outside of their jobs and even transform their side project into a full-time business.

And the moment to do it is now.

First of all, I guess everybody wants to know who’s behind this. Well, it doesn’t really matter, as the most important thing is to learn something here. But first, I have a story for you.

My story.

When I was in high school, I had no idea what to say when somebody asked me what I want to do when I grow up. You know, the classic question.

I had a big passion for technology, cars, and design — I was a Photoshop ace, winning online contests and scoring automotive magazines appearances — and I loved to spend time on my PC. But again, had no idea about what I want to do later. At school, I was studying to be a programmer, but — unfortunately, I guess — I couldn’t code for shit. Just some basic stuff and that was it.

But hey, it’s not for everybody.

When the time came to decide upon a college, I somehow decided that I wanted to be a teacher. And I got it, studying English and French, hoping that one day I will enlighten young minds. But it lasted just for one year and a few months until I had a revelation: I don’t think I have the patience for this. Plus, teachers aren’t paid very well in my country and I’m the kind of person who wants stuff. How will I be able to afford stuff from such a ridiculous salary, in the first years of my teaching career?

And that’s when it all started. That was the moment in which I started working as a freelancer and building relationships with some great people.
It’s been a couple of years since that moment and I eventually got my first job and the second, by the side hustlin’ continued, eventually turning it into a small business, with a team behind it. And now, I want to share a bit from my experience.

It’s not easy and it involves some sacrifice. Mostly when it comes to your spare time. But it’s absolutely worth it.

And this is what we’re going to talk about here: starting your own side hustle, finding work, maintaining relationships with clients, managing your time, and, of course, finding that balance between your job and your secondary gig.
