A New Direction
NBA Top Shot was my introduction to NFTs, it combined my love of card collection with my passion for basketball. In the early days of Top Shot there weren’t many content creators, and even fewer podcasts focused on Top Shot and more broadly, NFTs. So what do you do when there’s a void to be filled and you have the means to create? You create your very own Top Shot podcast with your friends, and it’s from this that Here for the Moments was born.
Here for the Moments is a podcast covering NBA Top Shot and other Dapper Labs projects. For weeks we were producing episode after episode, at the forefront of a brand-new technology and at times it was strange because it felt like nobody else had heard of this awesome thing. Turns out that they had, and we weren’t the only game in town. A short three months into Here for the Moments, we were given the opportunity to embark on a new journey…
Assemble the Team
There was an idea, to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could be something more. Wait, that’s just the Avengers. But it’s also the thought behind Packrip Media, a collective of like-minded Web3 personalities and creatives. Being at the forefront of something so new was exciting, we were having the times of our lives. People you’ve never met in your life, some of which are living halfway across the world, are now some of your best friends. Alas, all good things must come to an end.
To see one of the hardest workers and most talented writers I know get the opportunity of a lifetime, that’s something special. And with that opportunity came a seismic shakeup, but we pushed on and continued to create content. Packrip Media becomes NF3 Media and for the most part it’s back to business as usual, but you know that strange feeling you get when you know something just isn’t right? That’s what the new NF3 Media felt like. And it was this strange feeling that led us again, to change.
Enter SIDECHAIN
Emerging from our new transformation is SIDECHAIN (can also be stylized as Sidechain or SIDECHAIN.). SIDECHAIN is Web3 creators with a focus on blockchain gaming. The gaming industry is bigger than the music and movie industries combined, and the play-to-earn or play-and-earn model is set to take the gaming market to new heights. SIDECHAIN is covering the future of gaming and the future is now. We’ll have written pieces, podcasts, live streams, real-life events and more. Anything to do with blockchain gaming or the Metaverse and we’re there.
Who Are We?
SIDECHAIN is @fungible_steve, @NickWilson2448, @FroggerBob and @TopShotDadMoves. We’re all lifelong gamers and we believe that it’s our passion for gaming and our forward-thinking that will allow us to deliver the best content possible. And don’t you worry, Here for the Moments still exists, it’s not going anywhere. Just think of SIDECHAIN as a wheel of content creation and Here for the Moments as one of the spokes.
