August has been and gone—and summer was HOT for new VR releases and updates. So, we’re back once again to round them all up, starting with the hottest new releases and moving into the updates and official launches you won’t want to miss.

What are we waiting for? Let’s goooo!

Wizards Legacy

VR Roguelite fans are eating well right now—and Wizards Legacy continues that trend in magical style. As you’d expect, the focus is firmly on magical combat, accomplished by drawing spells in the air before launching them at your foes. Each enemy has their own set of strengths and weaknesses, so you’ll have to master the arcane arts and use your head to overcome them all. There’s a thrilling story to uncover, too, but the progression is non-linear, meaning you’re free to explore at will.

Now available in early access, we can’t wait to see what the devs conjure up as time goes on!

Fracked

Fracked is a scorching shooter chock full of audacious action and uncompromising style that’s been super successful on PSVR but has finally made it to Quest headsets!

Stranded in a remote mountain facility, you’re forced into the final stand between the planet and a legion of interdimensional enemies bent on world domination. Shoot, ski, and climb across this awesome adventure that’s more bombastic than ever before. It’s the end of the Fracking world—and only you can save it.

Artax

Artax is a top-notch port of the original Oculus Go classic, reworked and optimized for current Quest headsets—and it’s an RPG treat. You play as the titular Artax, a toy soldier who’s hopped out of the box to track down a fellow soldier (and heinous villain).

With a top-down god view, rich environments dripping with atmosphere, satisfying combat, and an engaging story that’ll keep you coming back for more, Artax is the perfect RPG to add to your Quest library this month.

Mario Kart in VR is basically here thanks to Galaxy Kart—and it was worth the wait! Packed with tracks, karts, characters, and wacky power-ups to master, Galaxy Kart channels the cartoonish spirit of its racing inspiration and revs you up for a VR good time.

It’s chaotic fun—with comfort settings included for any motion sickness sufferers. Basically, if you’re looking for a wacky VR racer, your search is well and truly over!

You can now play in local and online multiplayer (with avatars!), build and share your own creative tracks, race vehicles in god view, or even jump into the driver’s seat in first-person. Alongside the launch, they’ve added 2 brand-new track packs (each with its own distinctive style), 6 new cars in your garage plus 10 new skins and a whopping 104 pre-built levels. There’s loads to dive into here—and anyone who played in early access will automatically be upgraded for FREE!

This is a much more intense mode, so if you're a TritonVR 2 fan, it’s time to try your luck and see how long you can survive in single-player or multiplayer mode!

Scary Ghost (friends list update)

Scary Ghost (aka Horror Simulator: Co-op) is a ghost-busting, demon-hunting game you can play solo or with up to 3 friends. Guaranteed to offer both thrills and chills in equal measure, you’d be better off bringing those friends if you scare easily—so it’s great that they’ve updated their friends list functionality to help you find your pals and start gaming more quickly. If you had a blast playing with a stranger, you’ll also be able to quickly find them again and add them to your server.

Lightning Archer (languages update)

Lightning Archer is (as you’d expect) a cool and colorful archery game with great level design, a fun challenge, and memorable characters—earning it some stellar reviews on SideQuest. And now, with its new language update, it’s more accessible than ever before! Simply go to the settings menu and choose French, Japanese, or Spanish in addition to English.

While this may seem a small change, updates like this are vital for accessibility and media sharing around the world. We LOVE to see it! In addition, they also released extra missions and competitive arenas—more content means more fun!
