Hey, players!

The SIDUS HEROES Status System can greatly change the balance of power on the battlefield. The system is designed to diversify the gameplay and add a strategic component.

In the current game ver. 0.1.3, there are 4 types of Impact, 4 different Statuses and 3 kinds of Effects. Each Impact imposes a particular Status on your target and you can even combine two different Statuses so that your target suffers a special kind of Effect.

Impacts

Weapons, Armor, Items and Heroes’ race-based Abilities cause different types of Impacts on your target.

4 Impact types:

Electric — displayed as a yellow lightning icon. Inherent to the Voltrone race. Can be applied using a Taser weapon to produce an Electric-shock or by a Voltrone Hero’s race-based passive Ability.

Hydro — displayed as a blue water drop icon. Inherent to the Raptorian race. Can be applied using a Wave Modulator weapon to produce Acid Spit or by a Raptorian Hero’s race-based passive Ability.

Thermo — displayed as a red flame icon. Inherent to the Ogya race. Can be applied using a Wrist Grenade Launcher weapon (not presented in game yet) to produce Fire breath or by an Ogya Hero’s race-based passive Ability.

Kinetic — displayed as a three bullet icon. Can be applied using a Railgun Pistol.

Statuses

Whenever an Impact is imposed on a target, it causes the target to experience a certain Status for several moves.

Each race has a passive Ability that corresponds to a particular Status (which in turn corresponds to a certain buff/debuff). With each turn, Heroes have a 25% chance of Status activation according to their race-based passive Ability.

Each Battle Arena is also associated with 1 specific Status (that corresponds to the Planet where it is located), which is applied to the boss and cannot be removed, but it can be used to create an Effect.

Depending on the Race, the Status gives a buff or debuff. The bonus percent is calculated randomly.

  • Charged Status — caused by an Electric Impact. Reduces the Crit Chance for everyone except a Voltrone Hero.
  • Wet Status — caused by a Hydro Impact. Reduces the resistance of everyone except a Raptorian Hero.
  • Burning Status — caused by a Thermo Iimpact. Reduces the damage for everyone except an Ogya Hero.
  • Bleeding Status — deals a total of 300% DOT for 3 turns. When interacting with a Kinetic weapon, the Status is updated to Bleeding.

Effects

Impact + Status = Effect!

When an Impact is applied to the target Hero(es) with an existing imposed Status, a special Effect is produced that causes extra damage, deducts Energy Points, etc.. The Effect terminates the imposed Status.

Special Effects:

  • Short-circuit — deals 30% damage and deducts 2 Energy Points from the closest target.
  • Steam — deals 50% damage and deducts 1 Energy Point from the target.
  • Explosion — AOE Radius Damage: deals basic damage to nearest target + 50% extra damage from explosion + deducts 1 Energy Point. The effect of damage dealt to other targets in the blast radius diminishes in increments and follows a sliding scale. The damage is calculated according to the order in which targets stand relative to the epicenter and each other. The 2nd closest to the explosion takes 30% less damage of the basic 50%; the 3rd closest takes 30% less than the 2nd closest and so on.
