Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz had a great rookie season. This season, Wentz will improve even more because of the Eagles additions on offense; like wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and running back LeGarrette Blount. Let’s go more in depth about all of the moves the Eagles have made on the offensive side of the ball.

The Receivers

The wide receivers for the Eagles include Jeffery, Torrey Smith, Nelson Agholor, Mack Hollins, and potentially former James Madison receiver Rashard Davis. These receivers have the potential to be a great unit for Carson Wentz to throw the ball to. Even though the Eagles trades away Wentz’s favorite target in Jordan Matthews to the Buffalo Bills, it’s not going to impact Wentz because he can build the chemistry with his new receivers. Plus you have Alshon Jeffery, who since 2013 has posted the ninth most receiving yards in the NFL(4,182).

The Running Backs

The Running Backs that the Eagles have this year are also a great bunch, in Blount, Darren Sproles and Wendell Smallwood. Blount led the league in rushing touchdowns for the Patriots last year with 18.

Wentz has all of the weapons at his disposal this year, but the one thing that’ll make him a great quarterback in his sophomore season is his work ethic and drive for success. He set a rookie record in completions last year. In the Eagles first preseason game Wentz had a 158 passer rating.

Because of the Eagles addition of some terrific weapons, Wentz will be immune to a sophomore slump in Philadelphia.
