Two weeks ago was a big one for Signal Sciences. All 80 of our employees were in Culver City for a company-wide event we fondly refer to as “Camp Sig Sci.”

It’s the week where all remote employees fly in, so we are all together under one roof. It actually feels a bit like summer camp from back in the day.

Camp Sig Sci is a solid mix of work and play. It’s a time for leadership to share goals and strategy for the year ahead, and for teams to get to work together ~irl~. This is a very important week for us, as about half our team is remote, yet the Signal Sciences culture is one in which teamwork drives our successes.

Andrew presents to the Signal Sciences team

Andrew Peterson, Signal Sciences CEO, gave a presentation on company momentum as we accelerate into 2018. Our theme of the year — “GO BIG.” As more companies are embracing cloud and DevOps, Andrew said he thinks the WAF/RASP market is even bigger than initially projected. As a company, we have been preparing for growth in order to serve this growing market by expanding our team and adding to our services.

“Empathy for our customers is how we stay focused on what matters most to them to deliver the very highest value.”

We also had a customer come in and explain how she searched for a WAF, but never bought one until Signal Sciences. She shared how her team leverages Signal Sciences to protect her company’s critical web apps, APIs and microservices.

It’s not all work though — camp is a chance for us all to get to know each other, let loose and have some fun! This camp, we went bowling, had team dinners, and hosted an open house / pizza party here at HQ. Our office was transformed into a gamer’s wonderland. We had vintage pinball, arcade games, shuffleboard, and ping pong, plus, what party is complete without a photobooth?!

We are so thankful to our customers, investors, leadership and team, and we are ready to GO BIG in 2018.
