Draw something

Sometimes the simplest way to explain a complex idea is with a quick sketch. We do this all the time here on the Basecamp team as we’re designing and building new features. Now you can make a quick drawing right in Basecamp on your iPhone and iPad, then pop it into a Ping or Campfire chat—anywhere you can attach a file (Messages, Comments, Documents, Check-in Answers, too!) In true Basecamp style, it’s dead simple: 1 color, 1 pen, 1 eraser, undo, and redo — that’s it! We’ll make incremental improvements over time (and I’m sure we’ll get plenty of suggestions) but we wanted to get it in your hands now. Here’s how it looks:

Works great with Pencil on iPad Pro, too!

Print something

You know printing…like with an ancient machine that puts Internet things on thinly sliced dead trees. I know for some of you that’s like chiseling on a stone tablet, but tons of businesses rely on paper every day so we’re making it easy to print your Basecamp Documents, To-do lists, Reports, etc. right from your iPhone and iPad. Printing is available via the iOS Share sheet—every page has been carefully polished to look great on paper.

Tap “Share”, then choose “Print” from the iOS Share Sheet.

Accessibility

We’re proud to include a number of improvements for our customers with visual impairments. We’ve added more accessibility labels, improved a few sticky flows when using Basecamp with VoiceOver, improved navigation gesture support, and paid particular attention to several key screens: Home, Hey!, and Find.

If you’re a Basecamp customer who relies on VoiceOver we’d love to hear from you — about these improvements and any other places we can get better. Just leave a comment below or write us.

And more…

Basecamp for iOS 3.5.2 is available today with these updates along with numerous under-the-hood improvements and bug fixes. We’ve still got a lot more in store for you this summer and have already begun work on the next release. Stay tuned for updates. And let us know if there’s anything on your wishlist to make Basecamp even better on your iPhone and iPad.

Until next time!

❤️ Team iOS at Basecamp
