The Stranger
He set the time and I picked the place for the very first time we would meet face to face.
So many possibilities and so much hopebut if it was disastrous, how would I cope?
My anxiety was high. My heart was racing. I did not know the stranger I would be facing.
I believed that we both had everything to gain but also everything to lose which prompted forethoughts of pain.
Though I am usually late, I arrived right on time. When I saw the stranger standing there I recognized his face as mine.
Never before had I seen my reflection. The eyes, the ears, the nose, the smile — it was all perfection!
At that very moment, I knew what we had — the miraculous connection of daughter and dad.
