Avoiding the mechanic has become increasingly difficult. Modern vehicles require specialized tools and technology to connect each car’s advanced computer system, making it quite hard to perform it yourself.

Don’t worry, we’ll share some maintenance hacks that you can perform on your own!

1. Check your tire pressure
The risk of having a blowout at high speed with no warning is quite high if you don’t check your tire’s pressure. The good part? It’s simple, cheap and easy to do it yourself! Buy a tire pressure gauge online or at a low-cost shop. Check that all tires, including the spare, have at least 35psi.

2. Check your tire wear
Regularly check the wear bar on the rubber, a series of rubber bumps that intersect the tread of the wire. If the tread and bar are at the same depth and height, it’s time to get new tires! Try the coin test.

3. Check your oil

4. Check your antifreeze levels

The more you take care of your car the cheaper it will be in the long run. If you’re in the market for insurance and looking to save money, go to Sigo for a free quote!
