Welcome to Transition Village!
Greetings neighbors and welcome to Transition Village Jupperi during the summer of 2025!
We are Anni, Susanna and Andrea, residents of Palomäki and facilitators of Transition Village Jupperi. We moved to the area during COVID times and are hoping to know the neighbours in the area better. With the support of the City of Espoo, we are organising a climate participation experiment called Transition village in the Jupperi-Linnainen area this summer. The aim is to get to know the local nature and each other. Kulkuspuisto, the local park shared by residents of Palomäki and Linnainen, will be used as our central meeting place during the experiment.
Shared garden workshop
The experiment will kick off in Kulkuspuisto on June 12th from 4–8 pm in a Shared Garden workshop, where we will build planting boxes and discuss the goals of our experiment in more detail. We will begin setting up at 4pm, then at 5pm we will share the experiment objectives in detail, and then we will build a garden together. You can drop by whenever it suits you.
The aim is that this experiment engages all the residents (or as many as possible) of the area. What kind of wishes, ideas or skills do you have for strengthening community and biodiversity in the Jupperi-Linnainen residential area? Come join the experiment!
Local materials
We hope that most of the materials needed for the experiment can be sourced locally through recycling, so we invite residents to bring things that might help us build a garden box (and to keep it deer-safe) Do you have anything you would like to donate for the common use of the experiment? (like some plants, chicken wire, or anything else)
Contact us
We will be informing about the events of this experiment in the Facebook group from the area (@ Ju-Ve-La), so stay tuned! And if you want to help with the experiment, or pitch in ideas, send us a message (tel. 0445886015, Anni).
See you on 12 June in Kulkuspuisto!
With sunny regards,
Anni, Susanna and Andrea
