82GB in size, containing the genetic code for 36 Japanese celebrity cats and 16 different tropical fish. No Vault log was discovered for the package but code remnants found in servers seized by a Japanese Bankruptcy Court in Kyoto.

According to recovered files, in 2007, MURU, a Japanese biotech startup purchased Package #24 for $60,000 from Nakatomi Collective to launch their online custom pet company. From MURU marketing materials, “customers choose from dozens of template with customization options, like different eyes, fur etc. to breed your perfect pet.” MURU also offered “glowing fish” — in a range of fluorescent colors but these somehow failed to reproduce to scale.

While the company had some success — it sold 36 cats in 2007 — their methods of genetic engineering were not yet proof perfect. Most of the cats got sick very quickly and died, leaving behind some very angry cat owners. The company soon faced litigation and their files seized by the court.
