Ubisoft fans await news after Far Cry 5 was delayed

Ubisoft today delayed hotly anticipated American Political Sim, Far Cry 5. The game is now set to launch on March 27 next year.

On their blog Ubisoft advised that the additional time will be used to include Assassin’s Creed Origin’s well received hawk companion. In that game you could use Bayek’s hawk to scout out enemy locations and plan attacks. The development team intend to reverse engineer the popular mechanic to fit Far Cry 5, after the Assassin’s Creed team so successfully reverse engineered it from it’s original appearance in Far Cry Primal.

For Far Cry 5, the extra time will allow the team at Ubisoft Montreal to make some additional improvements that will bring the best, most ambitious Far Cry experience in line with the team’s original vision.

The year long delay certainly helped add a layer of detail to Origins, subsequently the game sold well and was a hit with critics.

When asked why the Far Cry team were only given a one month delay to perform the same improvement work on Far Cry 5: Jesus vs the Cultists, Ubisoft Final Boss Yves Guillemot told Silent Protagonist that they had since perfected their crunch time, figuring out an optimal mix of intravenous nutrition to keep staff happy and healthy during 96 hour work shifts. He also assured us that the facelift being given to Far Cry is much smaller than the heavy surgery they had to perform on Ass Creed.

When we saw how poorly Wolfenstein 2 sold in America we decided to add a gameplay mode where you can talk to the delusional murderous hateful cultists. By listening to them you can reach a compromise between peace, equality and lynching American Citizens in the name of a mad God.

If only someone had listened.
