The main difference between these formats is that FAT32 limits individual file sizes to 4GB, while exFAT allows for uninterrupted recording until the card reaches its total capacity.

Why and How to Format Your microSD Card?

Furthermore, it is recommended to regularly format the memory card used in dash cams, as the long periods of intensive data writing could lead to disorganized file arrangement and poor card performance. Formatting to erase all files can ensure the correct use.
