What do Walmart founder Sam Walton, FedEx founder Fred Smith, and GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons have in common? Military service.

The Church & State Vetrepreneurship Bootcamp is a 12-week mission to help aspiring military veteran entrepreneurs learn the fundamentals of launching and running a business. This includes a variety of tactics such as squared away strategies, marketing plans, and financials — all the important stuff required to create, develop, and pitch new ventures effectively.

The robust programming and curriculum developed over the past year features Tuesday/Thursday participation from service members and military veterans and Monday/Wednesday participation from civilians, with both parties combining for Saturday lab hours. This Bootcamp will be followed by an incubator program, where the best new ideas will receive mentorship, space, advisory services and opportunities to secure investment for their new venture.

“Our program is designed by veterans, for veterans,” says Shawn Spainhour, Army veteran and director of the Vetrepreneurship Program. “Our goal is to repurpose the tenacity, passion and mission-first ethos that comes with military service and help our veterans use those skills to succeed in business, whether it’s as an entrepreneur or an employee.”
