Goal Zero named fastest growing Utah company, 12 make Inc. 500

Goal Zero, the portable solar power manufacturer, is Utah’s fastest growing private company, according to Inc. magazine.

The Bluffdale-based company ranked 9th overall with 2012 revenue of $33.1 million, up 16,981 percent from 2009 ($193,813). 12 Utah companies made the Inc. 500 list; 95 companies made the Inc. 5000. The annual ranking measures revenue growth over the previous three calendar years (2009 to 2012). The magazine list their complete methodology online. Goal Zero employs 97 people as of December.

“Achieving this recognition is another example of how our employees are the magic of our business,” said Chief Executive Officer Joe Atkin in a statement. “We’ve not only helped create a new category with award winning products, we’re also realizing our mission of empowering people to provide for themselves and their families. And we’ve only just begun.”
