Oculus Quest (formerly called Project Santa Cruz) ships in Spring of 2019 for $399 with “Rift Quality” experiences.
This is the headset we have been waiting for. We get desktop VR experiences in an all in one stand alone headset. It’s also capable of Mixed Reality Experiences.

Update: You can do multiplayer with Oculus Quest in the same room as other people, the multi-room Guardian system can track the actual locations of other players.
As Mark Zuckerberg said “[Oculus Quest] is the headset we’ve been waiting for.” It delivers Rift Quality experiences in an all in one stand alone devic, no external computer needed, no phone needed.
It’s the first standalone VR device to ship with two 6dof motion controllers so you have your hands in VR AND at the same time offer the quality of experiences we are used to with the Oculus Rift.
