That’s right, for the first time since National Robotics Week started we’re not going to be having the Big Robot Block Party. It was fabulous but it was just too big — especially for a free event. We had almost 2000 attendees, 40 expos, 12 speakers, VC office hours and a startup competition last year in 2017.

Instead we’re holding the first ever AMAZING ROBOT TRIVIA NIGHT on Wednesday April 11 at Circuit Launch in Oakland. Tickets are now available. You can also donate prizes, set up a Robot Kissing Booth or have a silent auction to support your favorite FIRST team. This is going to be a SELL OUT!

There are lot’s of great robotics events coming up too. Misty Robotics is demoing at tomorrow’s March 21 Bots&Beer. Do you want to host or demo next? March 22 is Nightlife with Robots at Calacademy.

March 28 is our Women in Robotics speaker event — Bringing Hardware to Life . April 17 is our Agriculture for Robotics and AI forum. April 19–20 is Hardware Con in San Jose — get 30% off registration or 15% off Hardware Blvd spot

April 25–26 it’s SUSBEXPO — the Silicon Valley Drone Show. April 26 is our Retail Robotics and AI Conference — invitation only — but 3 expo spots left. April 30-May 3 it’s AUVSI’s Xponential in Denver.

May 11 is Tech Crunch Robotics Sessions — they are looking for startups. May 18–20 is Maker Faire — they are looking for startups too. May 21–25 it’s ICRA 2018 in Brisbane Australia — Industry Forum and startup competition

We’re also going to be announcing some exciting robotics workshops and accelerator programs very soon.

This salon looks at the one of the biggest challenges facing society, food security, and asks the experts on the agricultural frontline how to incorporate robotics, AI and automation into the food production process. ‘What’s holding robots back? And what’s ready to leave the research lab and be applied to industries.”

Presenting special guest speakers;

  • Nolan Paul of Driscoll’s — Head of R&D Strategy and Emerging Technology
  • Curtis Garner of Bowles Family Farms — Autonomous Vehicles Senior Farm Analyst
  • Peter Aiello of Usegi Farms — General Manager — Gilory — Santa Clara County
  • Additional speakers TBC
  • Moderated by Dennis Donohue, Director Western Growers Innovation Center in Salinas, former Salinas Mayor 2006–2112, Produce Industry veteran since 1988…past President of Royal Rose (speciality vegetable grower-shipper)
