Like many problems facing businesses today, entrepreneurship and startup thinking is needed to solve some of the biggest problems facing our planet. Take Elon Musk and his various companies for example — electrifying transport, our homes, and even helping humanity to be a multi-planetary species.

Have You Heard About the SDGs?

On September 25th 2015, the UN countries adopted a set of 17 goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years.

For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and people like you.

Governments, businesses and civil society together with the United Nations have started to mobilize efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030.

Why Should Companies Care?

  • Opportunity to view emerging and frontier markets as long-term growth areas.
  • These markets could be worth $30 trillion by 2025.
  • Taking action on the global goals can unlock ”trapped value” in the emerging markets.
  • Reinforces a positive public image by championing sustainable development
  • The goals cannot be realised without business participation. The problems are bigger than what the world governments can tackle alone.

About the Accelerator

We at Collective Campus and the Common Purpose Collective believe that our Accelerator program designed to find, support, and develop sustainable businesses making a positive impact in our world, can actively support the UN’s Sustainable Development goals, whilst also infusing innovation into the core business.

Collective Campus is a corporate startup accelerator providing coworking space, a 13 week education program and mentoring program that nurtures skills and relationships to enable entrepreneurs to build a world class company.

By connecting the expertise of large businesses with the agility (and hunger) or startups, we can help corporates to better engage with innovation in their sector, whilst also providing the startups with faster paths to validation.

The accelerator program, paired with the Corporate Sponsor’s ability to co-invest with angels/VCs in follow-on rounds provides the accelerator’s startups with a key competitive advantage.

Collective Campus partners with corporates with deep domain expertise to run the accelerator programs. This approach provides the startups with distinct advantages, including:

  • Mentorship from industry leaders
  • Fast access to customer feedback
  • Access to Domain Expertise
  • Positive brand association
  • Networks & Distribution
  • Key relationships established early on
  • End to end corporate innovation partner
