Silkroad, a blockchain-based fashion platform development company, announced on April 24 that it will launch a ‘Silkroad Fashion Platform’ project that connects manufacturing, distribution and consumers based on data and blockchain technology.
Silkroad is a system that records key information about many fashion companies, services, designers, and fashion goods in different areas in a blockchain, linking them into an ecosystem, analyzing rapid fashion trends, to provide a global marketplace.
Silkroad encourages participation in the ecosystem by creating a compensation scheme called Silk Point (SLP) for a large number of participants who record a part of fashion circulation. Participants can acquire Silk Coins (SLK) if they faithfully perform their roles such as prototype design demonstration, purchase intention display, designer discovery, etc. The obtained Silk Coin can be utilized as a means of publicity or reduced to alternative means.

Silkroad officials said, “We are proposing alternatives to the slow process of manufacturing and distributing based on existing wholesale sales, and developing designer brands based on feedback to overcome the limitations of fast fashion brands.
