Silsbee Independent School District is seeking members to become a part of its District Advisory Team.

The District Advisory Team (DAT) is a group of individuals who meet four times per school year to advise the Superintendent on District goals and strategies for improvement. The team is made up of representatives from the professional staff of the district, parents of students enrolled in the district, and business and community members. The team is advisory in nature and assists staff in making appropriate changes in the District Improvement Plan.

The mission of the DAT is to promote excellence in education for all SISD students through broad-based community representation. The DAT provides valuable input to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees, who ultimately have decision-making responsibility for the district.

Currently, Silsbee ISD needs two parents, one business leader and one community leader to serve on this committee. Parents selected can not be employees of Silsbee ISD.

To be a part of this committee, please contact Silsbee ISD DAT Chairperson Sherrie Thornhill at (409) 980–7800 or by email at sherrie.thornhill@silsbeeisd.org.
