Silsbee varsity boys cross country finishes in first overall

In all, 11 runners earn medals at the Cardinal Classic in Vidor.

SEPTEMBER 3, 2018–The Silsbee Varsity Boys Cross Country team earned first place overall at the Cardinal Classic held in Vidor on Saturday, September 1.

David Wright led the boys with a first place finish and Holden Cravy followed with a fourth place finish. Rueben Hatton and Dylan Wright finished eighth and 10th place respectively. Also finishing for the varsity boys were Matthew Eyre and Brady Carter.

Gracie Gilchriest finished 14th in the Varsity Girls division.

In the Varsity Girls division, Gracie Gilchriest finished in 14th place. Junior varsity girls runner Emma Hayes finished in 8th place.

The Silsbee Middle School Girls finished in second place overall as a team. The girls were led by Claire Uribe in third place, Annie Bebee in fifth place, and Erica Williamson in 11th place. Also finishing were Avery Stone, Chrissy Warner, and Emillie Auer.

The Silsbee Middle School Boys finished in third place overall as a team. Marc Gutierrez finished in fourth place, and Bobby Barton finished in ninth place. Also finishing were Eli Cravy, Clayton Eyre, Wade Adams, and Wellborn Fuller.

Cross Country teams will compete at the Nederland Invitational on Saturday, September 8.
