Sincerely Coffee, a subscription service with a twist
Every once in awhile, you’ll see different products or services that a few companies offer, which will expand across the industry. Right now, subscription services are jus that. And while it isn’t a new idea, what Sincerely Coffee is doing is.
Sincerely Coffee, based out of Los Angeles, is a rotating coffee subscription service with the purpose of highlighting different roasters and closing the gap between the person behind the company and their customers.
Most coffee subscription services are from the roaster itself, with the purpose to continually send the same coffee on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. And we were fine with that. But there’s a market for those that want to try new coffees from new roasters and don’t just want the same coffee, or even from the same roaster. That’s where Sincerely comes in to play.
Sincerely can’t really be compared to anything else, which is actually a good thing. Trade Coffee, another subscription service, has a bunch of different roasters around the country, and offering one time or subscription payment options.
Sincerely is a different kind of subscription service. It focuses on individual roasters, and because of that, you feel like you’re actually helping the roaster, and part of this tight group. The LA scene is very tight knit, so I’m sure in the next coming months we’ll see roaster like Barnine, Boy & Bear, Portola, Take Flight and many others. With that being said, they’re also looking at going outside the Los Angeles coffee scene, and promoting roasters from Portland, San Francisco and other areas.
When you’re part of the subscription service, Sincerely also puts out a short video for every roaster (which, by the way, is the most LA thing ever and I love it). They give a more in depth look into the lives of the coffee professional, so if you’re interested in the behind the scenes, this is a pretty cool perk.
I enjoy Sincerely’s product and will continue to support them. If you’re interested, check out their website. You can also follow them on Instagram.
