When you’re teaching any global social issues, whether it’s the 800 million people still living in extreme poverty or the ongoing rise in carbon emissions, it can feel like humanity is facing an uphill battle.

This is where the Sustainable Development Goals come in. Aka the SDGs aka the Global Goals aka a commitment to 17 ambitious goals to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.

The Global Goals are a call for action for all countries to end poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, while promoting prosperity, peace and justice.

The Goals interconnect and in order to leave no one behind, all countries must achieve each Goal and target by 2030.

But how do we hold governments and institutions to account? How do we make sure we’re on track?

This is your chance to have your say.

MY World — The United Nations Global Survey For A Better World

SIMA has partnered with MY World, a global citizen survey to bring people’s voices into the official debate, because we want to raise the voice of educators and students for a better world.

The survey is quick and simple. Three questions that will inform progress on the SDGs and provide evidence to shape future action.

You could complete the survey yourself. You could also make it the starting point for a class on the Global Goals and pair it with a series of films from our Sustainable Development Goals Playlist.

Raise your voice and tell world leaders whether they are making progress in achieving the Global Goals!

Every response matters.
