SIMDAQ Team: CTO from EPAM with a Scientific Background
Aleksei Terentev, a CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of SIMDAQ, who joined our team in the spring of 2018, provides with introduction of technologies and other key tasks in SIMDAQ. He has an broad experience in computer science and technology development in one of the leading international software companies — EPAM Systems.
In 2014, Aleksei Terentev graduated with distinction from the St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University (now, it is Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University) and received a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics. Currently, he is finishing his thesis for PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.
In 2017–18, Aleksei has attended a fellowship program in Harvard Medical School, Boston (USA). He also attended various courses and IT events in Harvard and MIT.
In addition to his considerable experience in research, Aleksei participated in a wide range of IT projects, from the development of games and online tools to the creation of distributed non-relational databases on GPGPU technology. In EPAM Systems, Aleksei developed a technological basis for such projects as Molecular Viewer and Genome Browser — systems for visualization of genetic information and molecular structures. VR/AR application for visualization of molecules — is his another project.
Aleksei Terentev worked with HTML5, Javascript, C#, Unity3D, AR/VR dev and C++ technologies within these projects.
He worked with the following tools: Gitlab, Gitlab CI, Jenkins, Microsoft Visual Studio 2015, Unity 3D, WebStorm, ESLint, Node.js, Gulp.js, Require.js, JIRA, Confluence and HTC Vive. His wide outlook and rich experience of IT-development allow Aleksei to quickly take a close look at new tasks and offer optimal solutions.
In the SIMDAQ project, Aleksei Terentev is responsible for the implementation and adaptation of new technologies, all IT processes and operations, process tuning, deployment and integration of systems, as well as selection, configuration and placement of servers, and configuration of the backend and frontend life cycle. He is engaged in the design of technologically loaded subsystems. He configures utilitarian systems, performs code-review, configures and supports environments for testing and development.
In particular, Aleksei Terentev implemented a decision for importing and storing historical trading data of the largest crypto exchanges within the project development. Consequently, SIMDAQ users will have an opportunity to train in the trading simulator, independently choose instruments and convenient speed when passing through historical datasets.
