The animated short by Simpals Studio from Moldova was much appreciated at two international festivals, “Canterbury Anifest” in England and “Short Sweet Film Fest” in the US.

At the Canterbury film festival, the cartoon Aripi won two categories at once: “Best International Film” and “Best Animation”. “Canterbury Anifest” is an animated film festival held in England since 2008. Its main purpose is to find and demonstrate the best animated works of directors of different levels — from amateurs to large professional studios.

At the “Short Sweet Film Fest” in the USA, the Moldovan cartoon received the “Outstanding Virtual Reality Film” award as an extraordinary VR film. This festival has been held since 2012. Each year, the best works of young and promising filmmakers from the USA and other countries of the world are selected.

As a reminder, “Aripi” is the first animated film in Moldova and Eastern Europe created with the help of virtual reality technology. In January, the cartoon appeared in the public domain in two versions: 2D and Stereo 360°. The animated short can be watched on the official YouTube channel Simpals Studio.
