Thibaut Astic recently submitted an abstract for an open-source implementation of a petrophysically guided scheme for geophysical inversion. It has been successfully linked to the various available methods in SimPEG and is now also able to link them to perform joint inversions. This was the first multi-physics inversion in SimPEG!
This week, I pulled out some of the code we have been using to test notebooks into a standalone library
testipynb. Feedback and ideas welcome!
In the meeting
We caught up with SEOGI KANG about the SAGEEP conference and his presentation on SimPEG. We also discussed pulling out some of the core utilities from SimPEG and discretize to a standalone library:
Rowan Cockett, Leo Uieda, and myself chatted about how to move forward and collaborate on a high-level API for geophysical inversions in python. Ideas are being sketched out in the OpenGeophysics github organization. Contributions are most welcome!
