This week in SimPEG…

This week, I have been working on getting the analytic solutions for magnetic dipoles and circular loops (both magneotstatic) implemented in geoana. Soon, the sources on SimPEG will rely on these, rather than the utils. Along with this, I have worked on cleaning up the README and documentation for geoana. And a big thank you to SEOGI KANG for the prompt to get moving on this as well as for his efforts testing it out in SimPEG!

Dieter Werthmüller worked on implementing a util for printing the essential packages in your software environment for running SimPEG. It is nicely formatted for outputting in notebooks and can also be used from the command line. Check out the pull request here: https://github.com/simpeg/simpeg/pull/698.

At the meeting last week…

We discussed presentations for the upcoming RFG2018 conference. Dom Fournier will be giving a presentation on the SimPEG framework and applications to the Kevitsa Ni-Cu-PGE deposit in Finland, followed by Thibaut Astic who is presenting on: Using machine learning to make geophysical inversions geologic. The meeting this week will continue discussing these presentations, and we will also hear from Mike Mitchell who has a poster on DC resistivity in tunnels.
