He was a man known for building things; houses, churches and relationships. Today we say goodbye to Jimmy Carter at age 100. Carter was determined to cast his vote in November for Kamala Harris and outlived his beloved wife Rosalynn.

Carter was the longest-living president, and more importantly, a great man. When Jimmy Carter was president, I remember hearing for the first time a president was supposed to serve the people of America. Jimmy Carter was hopeful for our country and our planet. I was happy to vote for him for my first time voting in a presidential election.

Before Carter, politics had been a bunch of rich old white guys who would stab each other in the back every minute of the day. ‘Serve the people!’ What a novel idea! I think today’s leaders need reminding of this concept.

Carter was a role model of what a president should be. As he set his sights on the office, he divulged himself of his company, a peanut farm in Georgia. He didn’t want any question of impropriety or corporate influence over his office. Perhaps he had a crystal ball into 2025s chaos! He wasn’t required to do this, he believed it was the right thing to do!
