Today we are beyond excited to welcome Beejay Morgan to Simplecast as Head of Platform. Beejay brings 14 years of extensive web development and audio production experience to the team. His skills will help supercharge each and every thing we’re building, and we can’t wait to unleash his talent onto the world.

But who is Beejay Morgan, really? We’re glad you asked. During a recent deep-dive discovery session at Troy Innovation Garage, we sat down with him to ask a few important questions.

What excites you, professionally?
Clean code, companies with no drama, and good coffee.

What book(s) are you reading right now… any good?
I’m currently reading a book called Supersymmetry by David Walton. It’s a sci-fi book about inter-dimensional artificial intelligence. Because I’m a nerd.

What’s your favorite Skittle flavor?
Oh man, I haven’t had Skittles in years… Orange?

Do you own a fidget spinner? Why or why not?
No way. I don’t have a problem with fo– Ooh look, a squirrel!

What was the last gift you gave someone?
I gave my wife some chocolate. And not because I was in trouble. :-)

What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekend?
Backyard get-togethers. We love having people over and grilling a ton of burgers.

What are three podcasts you listen to every week?
The Briefing, CodePen Radio, and The Changelog.

What’s your favorite place to listen to a podcast?
On the train when I’m on my way into Philly.

What excites you about working on Simplecast?
Podcasting is HUGE! I’m excited to build a platform that’s going to make it super simple for podcasters to create content and see how people engage with it.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A rock star. Like, in a band. That would be rad.
