I noticed that a lot of blockchain project teams are lacking something, either goals, directions, creativity, or a sense of urgency.

There are still a lot of issues in current blockchain technology. Some prominent issues for public chains are use cases, convenience, cross-chain technology, and how to expand ecosystems. For consortium blockchains, they need to find a way to improve access control and data security. Not to mention issues like TPS that all blockchain projects need to resolve.

Compared to consortium blockchains, there are many more problems to research and resolve in public chains. In consortium blockchains, nodes and their accesses are controlled, therefore, the completeness, openness and controllability of the blockchain are easier to handle. However, public chains are completely open, and a node cannot control the whole chain or manage data on the chain. If malicious information is written on a public chain, there’s no other way to erase it than by blocking certain content on the blockchain explorer.

If you choose to go on the blockchain path, it’s important to set goals and clarify the problems you wish to resolve. Otherwise, your efforts might not pay off.

About SimpleChain

The mission of SimpleChain is to simplify the blockchain for business.

SimpleChain is a PoW main chain with flexible sub-chains. Different sub-chains can adopt different kinds of consensus and block data structure as needed, to enable a variety of applications and use cases on blockchain. Sharding is also implemented to improve performance. This double-layered structure of one main chain and multiple sub-chains can fuel various applications while ensuring the consistency of the network.

Built on VeraxChain, SimpleChain’s first sub-chain, Baoquan.com provides record keeping services which serves to keep records of online data and authenticate electronic evidence. In June 2018, Hangzhou Internet Court of China judged a case of copyright dispute based on data stored on Baoquan.com. For the first time in China, the legal effect of the electronic data stored on blockchain is recognized in the judicial system.
