“Blockchain” was named one of the top 10 buzzwords in 2019 by YaoWen JiaoZi, a Chinese language and literature magazine.
It has been more than a decade since Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin whitepaper. In this global technology revolution, China has seized the opportunity and actively embraced the blockchain technology. In recent years, various policies have been released to support the development of the blockchain technology.
In 2016, blockchain was first written into the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” National Informatization Plan issued by the State Council as a strategic frontier technology. Since then, various departments have issued policies to provide guidance and support for the development of the blockchain industry and promote the healthy and rapid development of the industry. In October 2019, the importance of blockchain was also emphasized by President Xi in his speech in the eighteeenth collective study of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee.
Many provinces and cities actively responded to the national strategies, promoted the development of the blockchain industry from multiple angles and fields, and helped blockchain companies grow rapidly. As of the first half of 2019, a total of 18 provinces / municipalities across the country have issued policies on blockchain.
In addition, to create a high-quality development environment for blockchain companies and consolidate the core strengths of the industry, more and more blockchain industry parks are being constructed. According to incomplete statistics, there are at least 21 blockchain industry parks in China, and Zhejiang province has the largest number of blockchain industrial parks.
