Chinese online crowdfunding medical aid platform Shuidichou has suspended its offline consultant team after reports showed that the team has targeted hospitals to get as many patients registered with the platform as possible, and often ignore or fabricate the financial status of the patients.
People looking to contribute cannot tell if the patients really need help, and those who are actually in need of financial aid might be left with less attention.
The founder of Shuidichou responded and said that he would donate the platform to charity organizations if more problems like this occured. However, this still cannot solve the fundamental problem of verifying data.
Blockchain, on the other hand, provides a perfect solution. If we introduce blockchain into charity fundaraising and link that to relevant data chains (hospital data, financial data of patients, for example), data can be verified without human interference.
Blockchain is capable of bringing a purer world and truer hearts.
