Today we will show you very quickly how to dual mine Ethereum and Toncoin but this also applies to Ethereum classic and Toncoin and other ethash algos. Nnote that this is only possible using the latest version of lolminer starting with version 1.43 which was just released a few minutes ago.

How to dual mine Ethereum and Toncoin with Simple Mining OS

It’s important to note that unlike other dual mining setups we have seen in the past wich where sequential mining meaning it would mine one coin and then start mining other or it would split the hashrate 70% for Ethereum and 30% for another coin this time lolminer can actually mine Ethereum at 100% capability of the GPU and at the same time mine Toncoin.

What do we need to start dual mining

Ethereum wallet — by now I assume you already have an Ethereum wallet if not you can find good wallets in our article Best Ethereum wallets for miners and holders.

Toncoin wallet — in order to get a wallet you will need to download and register with the official wallet and get the address the wallet gives you.

A mining pool for Ethereum — any big pool is good like Ethermine, Nanopool, 2 miners, and many others

A mining pool for Toncoin — we suggest using TonWhales pool for now. In order to register with them, you have to use telegram and talk to WhalesPoolBot in order to get started. Type /start and when it asks you for your wallet address type the wallet you just got from the official wallet you downloaded earlier. You will get a message saying “Congrats! Now you can use Whales Pool”.

An exchange to swap Toncoin for other coins or USDT — from our research, it seems, for now, FTX exchange is the best right now because it has the highest trading volume which means it should not be very hard to trade the toncoins for USDT.

How to set up the miner for dual mining

The next step is all done within the simple mining dashboard and it will take just two minutes to set up.

First, go into the group config page and click the “add new group config” button. It will prompt you with a new menu where you will have to select the miner and put your miner options. In “miner program” make sure you select lolminer 1.43 or higher version if available. In the miner options put something like this:

-a ETHASH -p eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -u 0x222.$rigName --dualmode TONDUAL --dualuser EQ222 --dualpool https://server1.whalestonpool.com --apiport 4444 --tls 0 --watchdogscript reboot.sh

This configuration above is for ethermine and tonwhales pools but you can configure your own or change to any other pool you wish.

Make sure you put your Ethereum wallet instead of 0x222 and your Ton wallet instead of EQ222.

Now that the group is created simply go back to the Rig List page in the Simple mining dashboard and select the rig you wish to dual mine with, click the actions button and select “group config”, in the menu on the right side make sure you have selected the newly created group config.

Important Notes

Dual mining will increase your profits because you will be mining two coins at the same time however it will also increase your power costs so make sure its viable for you.

With the power, usage increase make sure your power supply is ready to handle 20% more power or in some cases even more depending on what GPU and overclock you are using.

It is very likely that you will need to find a balance in the overclock settings in order not to lose too much hashrate on either algos and save as much power as possible.

There are not many exchanges that accept Toncoin so make sure you have an account with one such as FTX that will allow you to trade your coins

If you need further help with your mining rig don’t hesitate to contact us or ask for help in real-time using the simple mining discord server.

happy mining!
